Vendors

Wedding Planner - Alexis Eliopoulos-O'Mara

This is the first vendor I booked.  Alexis keeps me off the ledge! She's also a brilliant negotiator who's already saved us a lot of money!  I love her! Love!!!

Photographer - Jill Person of Person + Killian

JB is really picky about photography.  He's not a pro by any means, but he has quite the eye.  It's one of the few things he was very picky about when we started planning. Out of the list of six or seven photogs that our planner sent us, Person + Killian was the only one he liked.  Doesn't hurt that I love their work too.... :o)

Videographer - Marc Smiler Video Artist

So... videography...  Everyone's seen that 80s-style video that looks like some guy off the street did it with a camcorder. The thing that you might not know is that they still make that kind of wedding video today! In 2009!  I knew I wanted a videographer to preserve that day on film.  I know it's going to fly by and I want to remember every single second of it.

I knew that what I wanted (combination of artistic and documentary style) was going to be hard to find and I would need to cast the net out wider than New England. Through a recommendation from one of my brideswomen I found Marc Smiler in Philadelphia.  I saw a couple of videos on the website and I was sold.  I had seen nothing even remotely comparable and I still haven't!

Cake - Cakes to Remember

This vendor was chosen for us by our venue, as they provide the cakes for all weddings at Mandarin. (It is possible to use another cake vendor, but then the cost of the cake doesn't count towards the minimum, so it would be kind of silly to do that!) Cakes to Remember has an excellent reputation in Boston, so I have no doubt they'll do a marvelous job.

My Dress - Sabella Couture

Sabella was the very first store I went to when I started my dress search.  I was a little afraid of getting the snotty attitude that a lot of bridal boutiques give brides, but I got none of that at Sabella. Maria and Christina were so nice and the thank you card I received in the mail a week after my appointment really cemented them in my brain as a store to do business with. Combined with all of the rave reviews on Citysearch, I knew I could trust them with ordering and altering the most important dress I'm ever going to wear.
